The normal work week for full time employees is 35 hours per week for five consecutive days with two days off. Although your work schedule may be changed on a permanent basis, at no time can your hours of work be changed to avoid payment of overtime, i.e. during registration periods.
During the period between the end of the summer session and fall registration, the college may choose to close on Fridays thereby shortening the 35 hour work week from 5 days to 4 days.
This is accomplished by rescheduling the normal hours of work. The personnel office will issue special summer work schedules to each employee.
The shortened work day shall apply following each Colleges Spring Commencement to September First for employees who work in non-air conditioned facilities.
From the first Monday after the last scheduled commencement in the University through Labor Day, (except during registration or examination days), when the temperature as reported by the New York Telephone Company
Weather Information is 92 degrees or higher at 2:00 p.m., employees who cannot be accommodated in air conditioned offices will be released from work, without charge to leave, at 3:00 p.m.

When there is a break down in the air conditioning equipment and the temperature as reported by the New York Telephone Company Weather or Information is 92 degrees or higher at 2:00 p.m., employees who cannot be accommodated in air conditioned offices will be released from work without charge two hours earlier than the normal (air-conditioned) dismissal time, but no earlier than 3:00 p.m.
A college may delay implementation of these provisions for 24 hours in order to attempt necessary repairs.
