EDUCATION-CUNY

The Local 384 Contractual Agreement with CUNY provides free tuition for its members. Through the CUNY program a member can earn an A.A, A.A.S., B.A., B.S, M.A., M.S. and Ph.D degrees following the rules stipulated.

An employee under certain conditions may choose to take a course during the lunch hour. However, courses may not be taken during the scheduled hours of work.

The College is not obligated to manipulate hours of work to accommodate class schedules. Members have to pay a consolidated fee at the unit where they register for courses.

Once a course has been satisfactorily completed, provisions may be made for reimbursement, to the member, for the fee by the District Council 37 Education Department. Call the District Council 37 Education Department for appropriate filing and reimbursement applications.

Any member interested in taking CUNY courses should consult with his/her Personnel Department and Registrar's Office regarding the procedure to follow.
