WELFARE FUND INCREASES:
$100 rate increase effective 4/1/05
$100 rate increase effective 4/1/06
Union agrees to generate 1% in productivity savings effective 1 st day of the 37th month. The savings to be mutually agreed upon by the negotiating committee and CUNY. The productivity savings will only effect employees hired on or after October 1, 2005 and be similar to modifications already agreed to between DC37 and New York City.
VDT optical benefit will be available for employees who operate computers.
Full time employees will be eligible for a tuition fee exemption for up to 3 credits of graduate level courses per semester on a space available basis. The graduate tuition fee exemption is unchanged for employees in Gittleson titles.
Full time employees will be eligible for childcare leave after working 1,250 hours in the current or prior year.
Disciplinary procedure will begin at Step II for employees charged with acts or threats of violence.
Employees will be ineligible for the transfer list if found guilty of disciplinary misconduct.
NOTE:
Ratification of the contract is not the final step to getting members paid.
Legislation must meet. The PAY Bill has to get support to be introduced. Then the Pay Bill has to be passed.
At the end of June the Pay bill was introduced and passed. The Governor signed the bill.
We expect payment to begin in late August or early September.
